In this research, the author pays special attention to the discourse, development practice and conservation policy in the Chiapas jungle to question the terms in which they have been carried out, as well as the assumptions on which they are carried out. He also intends to collaborate in the understanding of the process by which the geographic space of northeastern Chiapas emerged as the region-territory known as the Lacandona jungle. In the same way, the author seeks to collaborate in the understanding of the social construction of the region, as well as its historical processes and the action that has been taken around its laws, initiatives, programs and reports.
