Product information

Anthropology and democracy merge here to describe from demographic anthropology the population and reproductive profile of the inhabitants of Tlatilco in the Preclassic, that of an elite sector of Palenque in the Terminal Classic and that of the Chinampero settlement of San Gregorio Atlapulco during the Postclassic. Given the few testimonies about the procedures used to regulate the growth of the settlers of ancient Mexico, this essay –winner of the 2003 Javier Romero prize awarded by the INAH– has as its purpose the reconstruction of the demographic dynamics of three indigenous settlements and the design of the theoretical and methodological framework for verification.
