De las antiguas raíces is a collection whose purpose is to show the artistic expressions of people of African descent and those who have turned their gaze towards the worldview, history and customs of this population that is also part of Mexican culture. Ariel Mendoza Baños is a painter and photographer, he studied at the UABJO School of Fine Arts and has held more than twenty individual and group photography exhibitions in Mexico and abroad. This title is a collection of photographs that portray the Afromestizo peoples of the Oaxacan coast: their places, the people and their activities.
