This title seeks to delve into the image of the human being among the Mayans, since Mayan art is characterized by being deeply humanistic, being full of abundant meanings that are characteristic of the worldview of that people. Through multiple examples in stone, stucco, ceramics, painting and wood –which are represented here in illustrations and photographs–, the authors propose an analysis of the variations in human representation and its attire. This study provides valuable data on the vision that the ancient Mayans had about free plenitude where the human being enters the supernatural world that explains everything in its roots.
