In the XX century, Carlos Montemayor and Miguel León Portilla dedicated part of their efforts to advising on the creation of poetry written in native languages from Mexico. Their work was complicated, however, they opened spaces for recognition, dissemination and literacy that has served poets of the XXI century to strengthen the linguistic diversity that they contribute to universal literature.
