In order to promote reading and writing, the State Center for Indigenous Languages, Arts and Literature has held the literary contest Y el bolom dice… since 1997. This is the fifth volume and a demonstration of indigenous thought as well as their written work. The composition of the narratives contained herein takes the reader into a foreign and sometimes incomprehensible world, enveloped in its various anthropological, religious, economic and cultural particularities. This is also an edition that includes the narratives in their original language and with their respective translation into Spanish.
