Product information

The tecuanes or tecuán dance is a traditional dance of indigenous Guerrero origin, mainly Nahuatl or Mexica, also called the “Tiger Dance”; it has predominated in several regions of the State of Guerrero, but mainly in the Northern Region. Throughout these pages –and contributing to the cultural history of this area–, anecdotes, interviews and historical context of this tradition are presented. Likewise, the historical preamble of this dance is explained, its structure and how it is practiced today. Accompanying this, there is a Nahuatl glossary and photographs of the process, the clothing and its performers.
