Product information

After 300 years in which Chiapas had administratively and jurisdictionally belonged to the Audiencia in Guatemala, in 1824 it decided to annex itself to the Mexican Republic; it is in relation to this fact that its notorious social division began. The role of the successive legislations that were approved by the state governments in the interest of economic progress and modernization had several consequences that are still evident today. In this historiographic account, we look back at the recent antecedents of the late 18th century that formed the political situation that triggered Independence and later the Revolution.
