Winner of the XXXIV Premio Internacional de Poesía Fundación Loewe. Orlando Mondragón debuted in 2017 with his first book. He is a poet and surgeon, and it is in this last profession where he finds inspiration for this series of poems. These poems, sometimes written in verse, sometimes in prose, function as a medical diary in which the poet visits different hospital rooms where he encounters illness, longing and death. The author combines poetry and medicine in his writing, making them become one thing that easily takes the reader to the places that are described and circumstances that are presented.
