Product information
One of the characteristics that distinguish Mixtec communities is their form of political organization, the norms they apply in the election of their authorities, and the bases on which they act in resolving conflicts that arise. This book compiles collaborative texts that provide a comprehensive description of indigenous legal systems in the Mixtec territory, promoting and contributing to studies on the exercise of rights of indigenous peoples in the Mixtec region. The authors provide background on the political organization of Mixtec communities, legal perspectives, and the conflicts they have faced in accessing justice.
