Between 1999 and 2002, a group of researchers led by Dr. Andrés Fábregas Puig developed an interdisciplinary collective research experience, based on his work in northern Jalisco, where he achieved significant progress in the study of a region still neglected by both the authorities and the academy. This region was given the historic name of Gran Chichimeca, from which a seminar of studies emerged, the first regional meeting of which was held in 2003 and whose works are gathered in this title.
