The project that gave birth to this title was structured based on the joint analysis of three constitutive elements of heritage: natural systems, historical processes and cultural heritage, carried out by interdisciplinary research teams. The studies that were carried out had a transdisciplinary approach and an intersectoral interest (academic institutions, government and local societies). Here, a theoretical-methodological framework called “heritage sustainability” is proposed, developed and supported, which is tested with the results of the work carried out by the project participants.
