Francisco Mata Rosas devoted his attention to Mexico City at the end of the XX century, which is evident in the universe contained in his photographs, where one can glimpse the persistence of a city that is both real and imaginary, the result of the social, cultural and historical contradictions of the capital of Mexico. The publication of this title proposes, through the collection of photos it shows, a reading that starts from the living remains of the old lakeside city, portraying its inhabitants –who tend to be more landless peasants than unemployed proletarians– traditional dances, festivities, views of the landscapes and moments of daily life.
