The Avándaro Festival was a Mexican rock festival that took place near the Avándaro Golf Club on September 11 and 12, 1971. This festival marked a before and after in the music scene in Mexico, since as a result of this and the bad reputation it acquired by being considered immoral by the society of that time, rock was banned in the country. However, this festival was also considered, over the years, as one of the greatest social expressions of youth. The photographs presented in this title taken by Graciela Iturbe, and the texts by Federico Rubli and Luis de Llano, function as a historical legacy about this legendary moment of music and society in Mexico.
