Plural magazine emerged in 1971 as an initiative of the administrators and collaborators of the Excélsior newspaper, under the direction of Octavio Paz, who had in mind creating a publication open to the world. Under this premise, Plural became the axis of Latin American intellectual life, which for five years received contributions from the greatest spanish-speaking writers and critics, as well as the most renowned representatives of universal literature.
