This study seeks to analyze the effects of the introduction of new productive forms in the cotton textile industry at three key moments in the history of Mexico: the introduction of Spanish production forms and the establishment of the obraje, the first industrial revolution at the local level and the organization of the factory complexes that constitute textile industrial companies between 1876 and 1912. This work deals with the process of industrialization and the differentiation of productive tasks by sex, how female and male work are differentiated, how the situation of women is modified by the processes of economic modernization, among other related topics.
