This work was awarded Honorable Mention in the Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz national doctoral thesis competition on gender, convened by the Nacimiento de las Mujeres Institute. Here a broad overview is presented about the role of Zamora women and the influence of the evangelical doctrine of two churches on some of them.
