This research was carried out through a psychoanalytic study of the Maya-Lacandon, based on stories told by one of the main moral leaders of these indigenous people: Chan K'in Viejo, comparable to the legends of the Popol Vuh. In addition to the hypothesis and methodology it uses, it reviews important concepts of psychoanalytic theory pointed out by various authors and proposes its own. It also considers the original ideas of Erich Fromm, about the influence of the social, economic and political factors of a society, in the formation of the Social Character and Unconscious, within the complex interrelation of the Subject with the society in which it develops.
