This book presents the work of two researchers who present, on the one hand, the background of the Aztec calendar and, on the other, testimonies of the solar cult. Solís makes a comprehensive account of stones sculpted with dates, calendar combinations and glyphs, all of them related to solar myths, in particular with the myth of the foundation of Mexico-Tenochtitlán. Eduardo Matos deals with the decoding of the signs of the Sun Stone from the Genesis myths, its function and location in the labyrinthine order of the ceremonial precinct of Mexico-Tenochtitlán. Accompanying the text are color photographs, illustrations, a map and, at the end of the book, some attached color plates.
