Study carried out with the purpose of remembering the origins of indigenous education, which in 2018 celebrated 50 years of having been recognized by the national educational system due to the specificity of its conditions and the breadth of its purposes. In this fiftieth anniversary, the education of indigenous people was brought to Castilianization and assimilationism to bilingual and bicultural education first, and then to intercultural education, achieving what is now known as Intercultural Bilingual Education.
