Product information

Currently, the excessive use of industrialized dyes has begun to reflect its negative impact on health and the environment, which has turned attention to natural dyes and makes it necessary to encourage the cultivation of this insect that generates the carmine color. The use of fine cochineal grain as a dye during pre-Hispanic times constituted a tribute of great value, and in the colonial era it represented great economic income for Oaxaca and Mexico. The purpose of this text is to encourage interest in the production of fine cochineal grain with the hope that it will one day regain the splendor it once had, compiling common cultivation techniques and color photographs.
