The current migratory dynamic has provided compelling evidence about the presence and participation of women in displacement, especially their exposure to risks, abuses and human rights violations; however, they have been made invisible on many occasions due to stereotypes and discrimination. This study was carried out with this background, seeking from the examination of a contextual, legal and institutional framework, of the rights of migrants and a gender perspective, to examine the situation of migrant women in the border region of Chiapas. This research aims to emphasize the importance of adapting and updating the legal framework.
