Macario Matus, mexican writer, poet and journalist, carried out a large part of his work in literature in the zapotec language, and among his work he also stood out as a mentor to other young artists. Jorge Magariño was one of these artists, as well as a close friend of the author. With that closeness and in honor of his teacher, he selected from among 12 books that Matus published more than 50 poems, some of them in Zapotec. With the support of the mayor of Juchitán, Emilio Montero, and the favor of the poet's family to access the literary collection, the editor of this anthology was able to carry out this project.
