Product information

Elvis Guerra is a muxe zapotec poet, artisan and translator. His work is focused on giving a voice to his community, both to the muxes - dedicating much of his poetry to it - and to the zapotecs - making translations of texts in zapotec into spanish. The poems contained in this title are presented in both spanish and didxazá, and are dedicated to the crossroads of two dissidences: linguistic and sexual. Taking homoerotic love as the cultural context of the muxe experience in the binizá culture, the author seeks to dismantle the stereotypes of indigenous poetry as only focused on rural, bucolic life and far from the modern world.
