«Finally, photographs of muxes are made by muxes. The stories of muxes are written by muxes," commented Elvis Guerra regarding his work as a poet and translator from zapotec to spanish. In this collection of poems, the author gives an account of the perspectives and points of view of muxes who find themselves on the margins of society. This bilingual edition of zapotec-spanish exposes a reflection arising from a body racialized and sexualized by western society, highlighting that being a muxe has more to do with language, geographic space, social dynamics and the pride of the queer indigenous movement.
