Antonio José Forte was a poet linked to the second generation surrealist movement in Portugal, part of a group openly opposed to the authoritarian regime that ruled for 48 years, which led him to exile in 1966. Since then he dedicated himself to writing poetry, publishing numerous books, including one of poetry for children. Here the lector can find both poems in verse and prose, which are full of protest, reflection and criticism towards a government that “kills” people walking on the street and had no political prisoners because people simply disappeared; just as his desire to return to his homeland and find a home there remains latent.
