Product information

Since the viceregal era in Mexico, betting on cockfights was commonly practiced at fairs and patron saint festivals. In Aguascalientes its roots and sign of identity are such that, along with the bullfighting and charrería festival, it has been invested with the decree of Intangible Cultural Heritage of the State of Aguascalientes. The author presents extensive research documented with all types of materials such as image archives, filmography, newspapers and phonography, which allow for a detailed explanation of the cockfights at the San Marcos Fair from the XVIII to the XX century, in order to tell the history of the people who have participated directly or indirectly in these cockfights.
