Andrea Rivas brings together the work of 15 New Zealand authors to put together this collection of poetry that seeks to give a focus to women's writing. These poems are intertwined with each other through wāhine toikupiu, which is the term for poetry written only by women. This feminine vision has the result that the choice of topics about which one writes seems premeditated, when in reality they are simply things that women have in common due to the fact of being women. Issues such as love, loneliness, pain, fears and motherhood are frequent in these poems and the authors are responsible for enunciating the beauty that exists in them.
