This is a songbook whose purpose is to allow a people to sing in their own language, to demonstrate that there is a way to express in Mixe what is said in Spanish, to transmit customs and traditions through song, to recover the Mixe vocabulary of Totontepec and to bring youth and children closer to the vocabulary of their ancestors. The songs are written in Mixe and Spanish, however they are not literal translations into Spanish, but rather concepts close to the original idea of each author, since otherwise the Mixe feeling and expression would be lost. A Mixe vocabulary from Totontepec is also included to understand the songs in a deeper way.
