The Huaves or Huaris are one of the cultures that settled on the Isthmus of Tehuantepec in the XIII century, founding a powerful lordship that lasted until the end of the XIV century. Like every culture, they tried to preserve their originality in their traditions and customs, their religion and their language – which have undergone modifications over time –, still preserving their true essence, transmitting their culture from generation to generation. This title has attempted to authentically describe the facts relating to traditions and customs in ancient times, as well as to compare the extent to which they have undergone modifications with respect to the modernization of current times.
