Product information

After the conquest and destruction of Mexico City, then called Mexico-Tenochtitlán, Hernán Cortés decided to build a new city on that same islet surrounded by the lake. This title, divided into two volumes, seeks to answer how this construction was organized, to whom the lands were assigned, where the city grew and what places were reused for the birth of the new culture. Volume I covers the period from 1524 to 1535 through maps, graphics and illustrative photos, providing theories about the emergence of the city, marking the initial stage; while Volume II mainly contains appendices with analyses of the Actas de Cabildo de la Ciudad.
