Two-part evocation of historic 1971 open-air rock festival in state of Mexico, often compared to Woodstock because of its scale, counter-culture atmosphere and its chaotic and muddy aftermath. First part is large-format portfolio of images captured by then-unknown photographer Graciela Iturbide, who happened upon festival by accident and knew little about rock music. Second is history of event by journalist and rock critic, Federico Rubli, that punctures myths and clarifies long-obscure details. Includes reproductions of poster and flyers for festival. Some of these photos appeared in book Avandaro, published in 1971.
