Although the golpe guitar has a tradition of more than 400 years in Michoacán, there are currently few builders and few musicians who play it or have heard it in its old style. The teaching of this instrument was transmitted from parents to children or from teachers to disciples, through daily practical lessons, however it is difficult to find a teacher, since most of them are older adults with little patience for children. This is a manual that seeks to serve so that children and young people have a first contact with either the golpe guitar or the vihuela, so that the traditional teacher is necessary when they have made some progress.
